In Part 1 of this series, we will be featuring an interview with Paula Gold-Williams, President and CEO of CPS Energy, the nation’s largest municipally owned energy utility. Paula Gold-Williams has more than 30 years of leadership experience and has been with CPS Energy for 13 years. She is a sought after speaker and has received recognition from a wide variety of entities for her brave vision and inspiration for advancing the energy sector.

This interview will be conducted by Colleen Regan, Head of U.S. Utilities and Market Reform at Bloomberg New Energy Finance, and focus on the integration of renewable and distributed energy in utilities and how CPS is rising to the challenge.

Additional topics for this conversation will include: How the emergence and rapid growth of the solar market has affected the utility business model, what financing mechanisms make the most sense for Texas and the US and the world more broadly, what kinds of policy and regulatory developments would potentially drive the growth of storage and how the CPS structure as a municipal utility positions the company to experiment with emerging technologies.
