Our 1-on-1 program has been running since 2008 it was really sparked by demand from our membership. With the guidance of a national mentoring committee we developed our national mentoring program. This could be considered a more traditional mentoring program in that it focuses on matching two people – a mentee and a mentor. Mentees and Mentors register to participate, but the program is mentee driven – mentees are matched with a mentoring ambassador from our national committee to help them navigate the process and they begin by searching our member directory for a potential mentor. This program is ongoing and creating a mentoring partnership happens on a rolling basis throughout the year.
Peer Group Mentoring
After years of noticing trends in our existing 1-on-1 program, our national mentoring committee realized there was an opportunity to bring more people into the program that were looking for something a little bit different. This program is more structured and expects those participating to serve both as mentor and mentee by creating groups of 4-8 peers to work through a six session curriculum that builds in opportunities to share experiences, build community, and learn from everyone in the group.
