WRISE Releases 2025 Annual Report: Celebrating 20 Years of “Bold & Limitless” Impact in Clean Energy
Reflecting on two decades of momentum, strategic partnerships, and continued investment in the future of the clean energy workforce.
Brooklyn, NY, December 2025 – Women of Renewable Industries and Sustainable Energy (WRISE) is proud to announce the release of our inaugural Annual Report. This milestone publication commemorates the organization’s 20th anniversary, highlighting two decades of progress in transforming the landscape of clean energy leadership. It also charts a resilient and forward-looking path for advancing and building inclusive systems across the renewable energy industry.
Founded in 2005 as a small collective, WRISE has evolved into a formidable network across the U.S. and Canada. The 2025 Annual Report illustrates how the organization has become the “gold standard for equity, excellence, and leadership” in the industry, now supporting over approximately 2,800 active members and 48 chapters.
With the expansion of programs such as fellowships, peer mentorship, Executive Summit, growth of regional chapters, and record engagement at national events, WRISE reinforced its role as a catalyst for professional advancement across all levels of leadership and industry transformation.
“The 2025 Annual Report reflects a pivotal year for WRISE and for the clean energy workforce,” said Doseke Akporiaye, Executive Director of WRISE. “As the industry evolves, the need for strong, inclusive leadership has never been greater. This year, we focused on equipping women with the tools, networks, and opportunities to lead—and the impact is evident in our growing community and partnerships.”
Throughout 2025, WRISE deepened collaboration with industry partners, sponsors, and volunteers to deliver programming that responds to real workforce challenges while supporting women at every stage of their careers—from entry-level professionals to executive leadership. The report also underscores WRISE’s commitment to building a resilient talent pipeline that reflects the future of the clean energy economy.
The 2025 Annual Report features:
- Program outcomes and year-over-year impact highlights
- Milestones from fellowships, mentorship, and leadership initiatives
- Organizational growth and strategic partnerships
- A forward-looking view of WRISE’s priorities for the year ahead
More than a retrospective, the report serves as a roadmap for continued progress—outlining how WRISE will expand its reach, strengthen its programs, and support the next generation of clean energy leaders.
“WRISE is a transformational force shaping the next century of clean energy leadership, and this Impact Report affirms a truth our nation must recognize: women—who represent less than one-third of the U.S. clean energy workforce—are the architects of the sustainable future we urgently need. The data makes this undeniable: 725 leaders united at our Forum, nearly 5,000 participants mobilized across 48 chapters, and hundreds rising through fellowships, mentorship, and the Speakers Bureau,” said Constance Thompson, President of the WRISE Board of Directors. “WRISE is not simply advancing leaders; we are redesigning the leadership model for a just, innovative, and inclusive energy transition. As we strengthen national, state, and local movements grounded in our mission and powered by our members, we stand unapologetically in our legacy and in the brilliance of the generations who will carry it forward— Onward, Upward, and United.”
Looking ahead, the WRISE Board of Directors has approved a new three-year strategic plan. Priorities include bringing the flagship Leadership Forum to Chicago in 2026, launching national affinity networks, and leveraging data partnerships to drive industry-wide thought leadership.
