WRISE Welcomes Constance Thompson as 2025 Board President
Thompson brings two decades of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Justice ( DEIJ ) leadership to WRISE as its new Board President, marking a pivotal moment in the organization’s 20-year mission to advance *ALL women and underrepresented groups in the renewable energy industry.
Brooklyn, NY, January, 2025 —Women of Renewable Industries and Sustainable Energy (WRISE) proudly announces Constance Thompson as the 2025 President of its Board of Directors. An accomplished and recognized leader in diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice (DEIJ) initiatives, Thompson brings her extensive expertise and unwavering commitment to advancing opportunities for women and underrepresented groups in the energy industry.
Thompson’s appointment marks a new chapter for WRISE, which celebrates its 20th anniversary and continues to champion the advancement of ALL women and diverse gender identities in the renewable and sustainable energy sectors.
As the Senior Vice President of Equity and Justice at the American Council on Renewable Energy (ACORE), Thompson is a member of the Executive Leadership Team and is responsible for driving and implementing economic inclusion-focused strategies that foster opportunities for and support the growth of small and mid-sized energy companies through ACORE’s industry-leading Accelerate Membership program.

Thompson succeeds Katy Briggs, who has served as Board President for over a year. Briggs’ years of experience in the clean energy industry have left an indelible mark on WRISE. During her tenure, Briggs expanded the organization’s reach and strengthened its impact on advancing ALL women and underrepresented groups in renewables. Briggs will continue to serve as a vital member of the WRISE Board.
