How did you get involved with WRISE?

I was at a solar conference and met another industry professional who was very involved with the organization, Mallory. We talked about the upcoming WINDPOWER conference coming up and she encouraged me to come to the women’s luncheon and check it out. I’ll never forget the passion and energy she had explaining to me what WRISE was all about! I leaned in and attended the luncheon that year and I’ve been hooked ever since!

What is your favorite part of WRISE?

The people. The support. The positivity. The energy! Each time I’m on a group meeting call, chapter event,  or industry conference with any of the fabulous individuals it’s an instant surge of energy (no pun intended) and excitement for what’s next and how can I contribute! The enthusiasm is infectious and in a crazy chaotic world it’s easy to lose that spark so I’m thankful to have such a great group to lean on!

What advice would you give a woman trying to start her career in renewables?

Dive in and ask a lot of questions! Don’t be afraid of what you may not know. Find a mentor and get involved in the industry; the world is smaller than you think; and I’m quickly finding out it’s even smaller in the renewables sector!  So fun!

If you could give a high five to any person dead or alive who would it be?
Oh boy, it’s constantly changing. Since I’ve been re-reading two of Simon Sinek’s books again I’d say he’d be the one on my list, this week at least!

What is your favorite flavor of ice cream?
I have custard from Culvers minimum twice a week (confession). I’m pretty simple though, Chocolate or Vanilla loaded with caramel!
